Flores is located east of Sumbawa and Komodo and west of Lembata and the Alor
Archipelago. To the southeast is Timor. To the south, across the Sumba strait, is Sumba and to the north, beyond the Flores Sea, is Sulawesi.

FLORES OVERLAND 01 WEEK

 

ITINERARY :
Labuan bajo - Ruteng – Bajawa – Moni – Kelimutu – Maumere.


Day 1.

Labuan Bajo – Ruteng.

Drive to Melo village, Nampar Macing hot spring, Malawatar rice field, Cara village to see the lingko, web spider like rice field divide. Afternoon drive to Ruteng with visit the Cathedral church, and other European Missionaries in Flores, shopping at local market, then visit Ruteng Puu traditional village, the former village of Ruteng.

Day 2.

Ruteng – Bajawa.

Drive to Golo Curu, the change to create the sunrise, from the Ranaka active volcanoes erupted in 1987, admiring its wonderful panorama, afterward proceed to Rana Mese lake, then drive eastward to Waerana, Belgium Missionaries since early 1950,s. Continue to Aimere, see the process of palm wine making of the local. Lunch will be served here. Afternoon having lunch visit the local market then drive up to Bajawa.

Day 3.

Bajawa – Moni.

After breakfast drive to Langa traditional village, Bena megalithic village which situated in the foot of Mount Innerie, the highest mountain throughout Flores. Afterward, drive to Boawae village, see the panorama of Ebulobo volcano, enjoy the Green Sand in Nanga Penda beach, visit Ende market and harbour, the Soekarno’s exile place then drive to Moni the village situated in the foot of Mount Kelimutu. Overnight here, by night watch the local dance performances in Koanara Village.

Day 4.

Kelimutu – Maumere.

Around 03.00 drive to Mount Kelimutu to welcome the greatest sunrise on the top of Kelimutu, then fascinating the fantastic of the three coloured lake in the three crater. Drive eastward to Wolowaru traditional village, Sikka village, the Old kingdom in the era of Portugese in Flores by 15 century. Afternoon drive to Maumere one of the biggest city in Flores. And sleep overnight in Maumere.

Day 5.

Maumere – Bajawa – Labuan Bajo.
In early morning we go to Bajawa and sleep overnight in Bajawa.

Day 6.

Bajawa – Labuhan Bajo.

Day 7.
Labuhan Bajo – transfer airport and the trips is end.
